Junji's name has shown up more and more in my sphere. I'm not typically a horror person; I do not tolerate jump scares and tense thrillers well, but many of Junji Ito's story take a slower and cosmic approach to the genre. I read all of Tomie in an evening. I read the short story collection The Liminal Zone while loitering at the library.

The stories are well enough, but it is his art that distinguishes.
