By Gustave Doré. Click for full size photo. Another version of this painting resides at the Roger-Quilliot Art Museum. It is heartbreaking and stunning in person, over 6 feet tall and vibrant. The tears in the fathers eyes, the slumped shoulders. It is supposed to be a rendering of a true event, a child fatally injured in a tightroping accident when performing with their family. At a distance, it seems a whimiscal image with fantastical characters, but instead it is an image of mundance and awful grief.

Not because of his talent or my knowledge of art, but because he painted what I deeply knew and felt. 2024.11.01 Update

Fixed my rss feed, added a new boss battle animation from my current Octopath I playthrough, and added a new entry to the art-of-the-week showcase. -TS

2024.10.21 Update

I was uninspired by the prior layout and look; swapped in Octopath Traveler II graphics and am pleased with the result. Just having fun adjusting the little div tables in my internet shrine. -TS

2024.10.06 Update

Have settled on a layout and a website purpose. I'll use this as a place to house my collection of bookmarks and tabs: the articles, pictures, books, games, thoughts that I want to remember for later.
To-Do
-Compile list of games, books, articles and decide on a tag system
-transfer css into own stylesheet instead of on html page
-look up how to hyperlink to another spot on same page
-upload badges to sidebar

Why make this?

I heard an arguement against lurking, non participitory observation, that I could not ignore. So I endevor to start contributing to the weird wild humanity that I love.
